The
Holy Grail is Here
The
MasterList came about as a product to manage about
100 projects all moving forward at their own pace.
Each project had 15 to 25 tasks at any given time.
The tasks had to be followed up on. Requesting documents
wasn’t good enough, the documents had to be
received, reviewed and annotated for later use.
No
person’s memory was sufficient to remember all
these things, especially since they kept shifting
and changing daily. To harness the use of the computer
to manipulate these to-do’s made tremendous
sense. It made so much sense that we were sure we
could find a product out there that would do exactly
this. But none did. So we built a system that could
track complicated to-do’s. We made it networkable
so as multiple persons worked on complicated projects,
all team members could easily see where the project
stood and who was doing what. And 4 years after we
first rolled it out, The MasterList is still the best
and only product on the market that does these things
so well.
There
is no greater peace of mind than arriving at work
and seeing laid out before you the precise grid of
to-do’s that you’ve spent good brain power
and time setting up. The to-do’s arrive at your
computer screen just when you need to be working on
them, like a well run factory’s just in time
inventory control. And as you look over your list,
a few items stand out with color on their task code.
A few others have become non-essential at this time,
so blast them into the future in seconds with a multiple
blast tool. In a few minutes you have pared your list
down to the ones that constitute the best use of your
time that day. The Holy Grail of time management.
Working on just what you need to makes for a calmer,
less stressful day. We’re charging a pittance
for this heavy duty tool, you’ll find it worth
so much more.
And
that’s just the to-do’s. As we used the
system we kept adding innovations that made it even
better. We added places to store documents and link
to website pages. We could now drag in folders and
Outlook email folders so all our documents, spreadsheets
and email correspondence was in one place. We made
notes and logs for storing phone conversation tidbits
or activities related to the project. So, deciding
what to work on was easier and getting to work was
easier. Finding previous websites or documents was
easier. Remembering what was agreed on 3 months ago
was easier.
If
you’re using The MasterList you’re going
to start looking like a genius, to your bosses, your
customers and yourself. It’s that radical. But,
simple. Easy. Practical.
