Let's Triage
Working attorneys will find The MasterList TM system to be a fast, powerful, and intuitive tracking tool which will reduce the most complex case to a precisely manageable set of task packages. The MasterList system will monitor and distribute your workflow just like just-in-time inventory.

Triage is a key concept in applying The MasterList system. It might sound like a contradiction, but The MasterList system uses time to manage time.

Now, let's triage!

Start with the Main Menu screen. Notice the button under Quick Hit Reports which is called My Day. When you click it, what you will see is a list of task packages you have flagged using our key value system. You, or an assigning colleague, have identified these as your priorities today. This might include events, ideas, research, calls, depo prep, or even memo responses from colleagues to inquiries you have made through the system about a case tactic.

Study the My Day list. Do you see one that you can't possibly get to today or that is not yet ready for action. Highlight it! Then, double click it; or, strike Go. You have now jumped to a case masterlist screen where the entry you wish to triage is set in a chronological case plan.

Let's try a vertical triage first, applying time. High priority, but not today? Use the convenient date bumpers to bump it up the case masterlist timeline until tomorrow. Medium priority? Bump it higher, a few days or a week. Low priority. Use the month bumper to kick it far into the future, perhaps a month or two. You will not see that task again until it is just in time - a time chosen by you. Like pinball bumpers, The MasterList triage tools will push all your non-priority tasks far ahead on the case masterlist timeline, to roll back down to you another day for your review.

Now, strike the colorful double-arrowed Resequencing Button and watch the task packet jump to its new place in the case chronology. Why not take a moment to study all tasks, assignments, ideas, and events in the case while you are at it. Each case masterlist screen shows you a complete tactical case plan with all dependencies, relationships, and follow-ups in perfect chronological sequence - at the level of detail and organization you decide on.

You don't like the sequence of planned events? Change it. With the date bumpers you can reorganize your case plan instantly.

Let's try a lateral triage! Maybe, you don't want to do a job, yourself; or, don't have the time. No problem. The case masterlist task packets are very mobile. Strike the user drop down list which is embedded in every task edit box. Select an associate by hot keying the first initial of their three letter user code. Click!. It's their job now. It will appear instantly on their My Day report the next time they access it.

Other programs apply A, B, C or High, Medium, Low rating systems to prioritize workload. But, today's inconsequential task may be tomorrow's screaming priority. Low means Low even when time has changed priorities. With The MasterList system, time is your triager. When you see a task packet pop on My Day, you work it or you triage it. You are in control of the workflow every step of the way.

After you've triaged a task, return to the My Day report. Look for the Lightning Bolt at the top of the screen. Strike it. Boom! The list is refreshed. That task is gone. It's off the list. But, not into the void. It will come back to My Day, just in time, when you need it and when it needs to be done. Without fail. Never lost. Never late.

With The MasterList system, every job gets done on time, every time.
