Reflections
On Why Case Management is Still Case Management.
TechnoLawyer
asked: "Who invented case management software? Where
is that person now, and what does he/she think about the
current crop of products? What is the history behind case
management software?" See what MasterList designer
Bill Neubert has to say about his philosophy of case management.

The MasterList system is not theory. It is practice.
And, it works exactly as described in the Pop Quiz. Why
not take the Pop Quiz and test your Tactical IQ.
Trial
Book Recipe
When you distill any litigated case down to its essence
you are talking about tactical content, all of which is
flowing towards a trial which can be outlined and scripted
in a Trial Book. The MasterList, with its full word
processing notepads, and all tactical data organized at
a centralized master screen according to a chronological
implementation agenda, is the perfect tool for creating,
analyzing, implementing, and tracking tactical content.
It's no wonder that The MasterList is a great place to create
your Trial Book.
Let's
Triage
Working attorneys will find The MasterList
system to be a fast, powerful, and intuitive tracking tool
which will reduce the most complex case to a precisely manageable
set of task packages. The MasterList system will monitor
and distribute your workflow just like just-in-time inventory.
Why not triage your workload like all the M.B.A.'s do?!
Triple
Play!
A highly effective case management system should
generate case plans which can be shared, are trackable,
reportable, and easy to use and change. The most important
action for any case manager is to provide a place where
co-workers can find the case plan and get direction. The
MasterList system is unparalleled in its ability to
provide case management signposts that help staff navigate
the tactical perils of each case.
Rollout.
Some Might Call This Chaos.
Here's what we were thinking in January, 2000 when we rolled
the first version of The MasterList out. We thought
a non-integrated tactics manager was the way to go then.
We still do. In fact, the first principle of The MasterList
Design Paradigm is that Law Case Tactics should be Separated
from Law Office Operations. Read what we were thinking when
we rolled out.
Why
Not!
As a startup in September, 1999, with the first version
of The MasterList ready to come out of beta, we paused
to assess where we were coming from as we entered the market.
Then as now, we believe that The MasterList works the way
everyday lawyers think.
